Every year Sprayground produces its annual African Intelligence Collection. This year the renowned streetwear brand’s founder David BenDavid co-created with Sandflower, an artist whose Black heritage is a focal point for her designs, and just in time for Black History Month. Pressing into the artistic soul, Sprayground is giving artists like Sandflower fortitude, as her heart, and other other Black artists that have worked with the brand is preserved.
Themed “Path To the Future,” it’s a multidimensional capsule collection. What sticks out about the collection is the wide use of colors and graphics that according the brand, “pushes fashion boundaries.” A portion of the sales from the collection will go to Black Girls Code, SOS Africa, and Boys and Girls Club.
Sandflower’s artistic expression is reflected on duffle bags, handbags, fanny packs, backpacks, joggers, and hoodies. The colorful designs are also on Sprayground’s iconic “shark mouth” bags. “The “Path To The Future '' collection puts an eye-catching display of rich colors and bold shapes that took inspiration in the importance of celebrating artistry and fortitude of black artists, taking a deeper look at the influence of black culture and the future of self-expression,” notes the brand.
Sprayground was founded in 2010 by David Ben David with a need to create bags with loud designs. Products are located in 30 countries in the US, as well as in China. The brand has done collaborations with Formula 1, the NBA, and Spike Lee. Today you can find Sprayground luggage and apparel as part of the brand.
The collection like all Sprayground products is in limited release, and can be purchased at sprayground.com, as well as at exclusive boutiques in the US.
