This week we dropped a collaboration backpack with Latino rapper, singer and record producer, Jon Z, following his latest 13-track EP launch.
For this latest collaboration, we worked very closely with Jon Z to create a backpack that encompasses Jon’s heritage and style, as well as a play on our well-known design.
The bag celebrates Jon’s Puerto Rican background and plays homage to his first ever job, before he became a successful rapper, as a pizza delivery guy. Jon wanted this to be included somewhere in the design, taking it back to his roots and demonstrating how far he has come, so we decided to take our iconic ‘shark-mouth’ and replace it with a pizza design in the same shape.
Jon Z, said: “I love Sprayground backpacks, they have super dope designs but they’re also amazing quality. I wanted to create something that is unique to me, something that inspires my fans to not give up on their dreams. Sprayground really helped bring that to life and I’m really excited to share this with everyone!”
The backpack has a padded laptop compartment that can accommodate a 17-inch laptop, as well as designated partitions for USB sticks, wires and cables, and other accessories securely stored in zipped compartments, making it the perfect backpack for those on the go and also the street fashion-forward.
Founder and creative director, David Ben David said, “We’ve had this one under wraps for just over a year. I am so excited for fans to get their hands on this one, we really went hard on the design and captured every essence of Jon we could. If you love Jon Z, you’re gonna love this bag.”
